What is ‘ THE LOOK’?

What is The Look?

For ten years now, I’ve lived between two worlds: that of a businesswoman and tax lawyer, and that of an influencer. Numbers and contracts on one side, cameras and creativity on the other. It’s a strange mix, but I’ve learned one thing—both worlds often fall into the same trap: mistaking the image for the essence.

Recently, I wasn’t invited to an event by a brand which I appreciate. At first, I thought, perhaps I’m just jealous. But when I looked at the guest list, the pattern was obvious: young women with what the industry calls “the look.” Perfect hair, flawless makeup, and bodies cut from the same mold.

When I asked someone in the industry why I hadn’t been invited, the answer was simple: “You don’t have the look.” She didn’t mean to hurt me, but it echoed in my head for weeks.

But here’s the twist: she’s right. I don’t have THAT look.
I have my look—my personality, my experience, my scars, my voice. And isn’t that what influence should be? Not a copy-and-paste of the same face, but a reflection of real diversity?

Brands often have to choose between image over content and mostly choose image. Yet when sales disappoint, maybe the problem isn’t the product—or the consumer—but the sameness of the story they keep telling. Because repetition is safe, but it’s rarely memorable.

I often hear: “Why are you still an influencer at your age and with your career path?” As if passion and creativity come with an expiration date or a label. If anything, the longer I live, the richer my story becomes.

So no, I don’t have the look. I have my look. And I won’t trade it for anything. Because in the end, people don’t remember the gloss. They remember the truth.

And that’s why I’m still here, joyfully creating, speaking up, and showing that influence doesn’t age—it evolves.
