Splurging at the Test Kitchen – Cape Town

This post is long due!!! So much has happened in the meantime that finding space for it was hard…

The experience is unforgettable…

Listed as one of the best restaurants in the world… Luke Dale Roberts in his Test Kitchen deserves every star, every compliment, all the success he so far has achieved…

First, a word on him… What a nice and simple guy… A true chef, accessible to his staff and super accessible to his guests…. I know that it is common to see chefs running their own kitchens, but the day I was there Luke was more than a Maestro… He was the orchestra but a musician at the same time…

A little bit about the place…. A small restaurant which was designed cleverly. It is located in a Old Mill… in a revitalized area of Cape Town…

First, the dark room…. It is really dark… sofas, low tables and very dark wood… For food lovers, the total anticipation of what will be served, mouth watering dishes instigates your curiosity and palates … several starters shed some light to what is still to come… a show in itself… the presentation is superb!

Then, the light room! not very big, with an open kitchen in full swing… therein Luke Dale Roberts conducts his show… every dish is a master piece… OMG… freeze time… I didn’t and I don’t  want to try anything else… it was too goooood!

Dish after dish, your body and soul thank you for the experience. It is in Cape Town, it is difficult to reserve… it is not cheap… but it is unforgettable!
