Paris Intense

Paris does not really need description. My vocabulary list does not have words to describe the city’s beauty and vibe.

Paris with a local, I tell you… It is intense…

I  took Friday off and we started the day by scrolling down Avenue Montaigne… One of the axes of the French Golden Triangle (the other two is Avenue George V and Av. Champs Elisées).. the street is the ultimate place for luxurious fashion… Louis Vuitton, Celine, Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Prada… they are all there… side by side… As it is Paris, you find it all, all the pieces of the latest collection… A delight for the senses…

From there, we went to have lunch at the Prince de Galles hotel bar… Super chique… It is art deco style… Recently all redecorated… A delight for the eyes and senses… It is the place to go in Paris for a pleasant break… While having lunch, Sophie Marceau comes into the bar and sits in the next table… Did I not say it was not the place to be???

After recharging the energy, we headed to the Rue de Saint Honoré… party time!!! so many things to look at…

First stop: Colette – a super trendy and modern shop… with an incredible collection of books and the latest designed clothes and items… the water bar in the shop offers more than a 100 different types of water from all over the world… I bought myself a watermelon one… cannot say I liked it… I still prefer the fresh juice….

Then, we moved to Goyard – Oh, Ulálá.. Goyard is a brand older than Louis Vuitton which also started as a trunkmaker, exclusive and only for connoisseurs… as there are very few shops across the world.

Next stop: Bonpoint – the Hermés shop for kids… Everything is so pretty and refined that you feel like buying it all… I had to restrain myself as my kids would destroy the softness and beauty of it in less than 30 seconds… So you make sure you kids are not pirates or warriors if you want to dress them with Bonpoint…

Next: Causse  – The most prestigious gloves shop in Paris.. Tailor made pieces of art… your hand just slips into the pair with precision… not a millimeter of undesired space… A total delight…

Not very far from Causse, just above the Place Vendôme, you must visit the first and traditional Repetto shop… the Mecca for Ballet dancers… it makes you dream to have a little girl, girly enough to fluctuate in ballet shoes and pink skirts…

Back to the hotel for a power nap, before we hit the night… we get all beautiful to go to Yeeels… A restaurant club, in the heart of the Golden Triangle… hype, chique, full of beautiful people… Food is delicious and prices are correct… you would not think so, when you are out in one of the most VIP places of Paris….

3 am, bed time…. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Next Morning… late morning…. after zzzzz, we went for brunch at the Plaza Athenée…  Alan Ducasse runs the show here… and I assure you it is splendid… The place in itself is gorgeous… full of Crystal Baccarat chandeliers… silver table cutlery, and the finest porcelain… pure style….

The food is incredible… well, it is Paris, Plaza Athenée e and Alan Ducasse… what else would you expect???? Bread and Butter taste incredibly good… how do they make it??? many have tried to compete… not many succeeded…

The menu is superb and I assure you that you will eat for the whole day… Money well spent…

Last stop, the Hermés shop at 17 Rue de Sevrès…

When you hear the word Hermés , you immediately associate to excellency! Now, they outperformed themselves. They have taken an old swimming pool of Paris, the famous Latetia pool at St. Germain de Pres and transformed it into an amazing shop.

The Place has housed another famous Paris brand and it is a historical monument of Paris… The mosaic stoneware of 1935 was perfectly restored creating a sense of movement of the swimming pool. An amazing place to visit… and to shop, of course….

You can see my weekend was super intense… I did not even mention the amazing girlfriend I had with me… she will one day be subject to a full post…

Hope you will enjoy this post… and Paris too
