Rio – a wonderful show

Hi girls

I am so sorry for disappearing… I have ben running like a headless chicken… But now it seems that things are settling down to the normal routine…

I want to tell you all about my time at the Rio Olympics… It was one of my best holidays ever… I must confess that I was scared of going to Rio due to all the negative press… We took our courage and took off… Tickets were bought last minute… Here we go…

We absolutely loved it… It was all organized, clean, full of security everywhere….

We wanted the full olympic experience, so we bought tickets to see the basketball… Brazil and Nigeria… Brazil won and it was very exciting…

The olympic stadium and area is huge… It makes you tired to walk around… We had beers, collecting the beer glasses as they had diferent olympic themes…

We also went to see the water polo and the BMX… Golf was just across the street from where we were staying… Athletes, beautiful people everywhere… What a vibe and the weather, nice as it can only be in Rio…

We also did some touristing… For Rio, the olympics costed a lot of money but it is unquestionnable that a lot of money was invested in infrastructure… The whole port area was renovated… It is gorgeous what they did… The navy security area was open and revamped into what is called the Olympic Boulevard… A new museum constructed… Lego has gifted Rio, a whole city made o Lego… Millions of pieces… Pure perfection…

We also went to the Forte de Copacabana… As you may know the army still controls the Fort as it has an strategic position at the entry of the Guanabara bay… We had lunch at the Colombo, a coffee place that exists for more than a 150 years…. The view, unbeattable… There is no place in the world more beautiful than that bay…

As Rio was hosting people from all corners of the globe, these countries wished to show the locals a little of their own culture… There was the Qatar house, the Geman house, the Portuguese house, amonsgst others… We visited some of them…. It was fun, and full….

Le club was the French base at the hipica… We were invited by a good friend to attend the VIP party… It was amazing… Full of beautiful people, athletes and again a vibe that you dont see in many places… Fun was in the air….

Shopping has also its moment, although I thought that prices were way too high… Managed to get some nice dresses at Lucidez, a brand that I love…

Dinning in Rio can be exquisite and we had the opportunity to eat pizza at Fiammeta… Try the one with brie cheese… To die for… Eat sushi in a rodizio, which means all you can eat, eat coxinha creme at the Colombo, eat at the Victoria restaurant in the Jockey club and eat loads of brigadeiros…. Photos to make you jealous… ;-p

As everything that is good come to an end, we had to come home… But the memories will stay and confirm that Rio is the wonderful city, not matter what people says…
