Dolce & Gabbana – Hidjab

Who does not remember the movie Sex & the City 2, when the Carrie follows some women out of the souk into a private chamber and these women undress their black abayas into stunning fashion clothes and shoes… The film is full of steriotypes and some claim that have no undertanding or respect for the muslim culture… I am not here to discuss the film… It is known  though, that the muslim women are gorgeous and as fashion connected as any other women from any other culture…

In recognition of that one of the biggest fashion brands, Dolce and Gabbana, has just released a collection focusing on these women… And now they are not focusing on the clothes that the public does not see, but on the clothes that cover it all… The abayas and hidjabs…

The clothes respect the Islamic tradition, being made os the best tissues, with cut precision and luxurious finishings… It is obvious that in islamic countries, women find in their domestic market, producers that created luxurious clothes for them, however it is interesting now to see a super top brand creating and marketing for those markets… It also demonstrates an open mind in a world of prejudice and distorted information…

As a fashion lover, I find this terrific… And I might try one of those when visiting an Islamic country, as you know, we women even foreigners, in some countries must dress as the locals..
