A Narcissistic autumn

Oct 15, 2017 by Valentina Voos No Comments
A season change demands a lot of preparation….especially when the seasons are so well marked… Summer is light and fun… Autumn is foggy and mysterious… One of the things I do every year is to change perfume and make up…as it is all different… the smells and colours cannot be the same.. I am not that type of girl who has one smell… I am not faithful to one perfume, on the contrary I am open to try new ones… My bathroom always looked like a perfume shop! This Autumn season has not yet kicked in… The yellows are coming… Read more

A spring must have! It was released last year but it really exploded this year as it reminded many of the Beauty the Beast rose in the glass. The lipstick is transparent when we look at it, but in contact with the lip it changes colour in accordance with the different PH and the amount of Red 27 dye in the product. There are 4 different types and they are named in accordance with the flower enclosed inside the lipstick… Dream Purple Flame red Barbie doll powder Minute maid www. kailijumei.tictail.com Collectors have gone crazy and at some point it… Read more

Et Voilá…. SARAVÁ Where the world meets under Et Voilá…. SARAVÁ

Where the world meets under the palms and the night turns into legend.
We danced until 5:30am, walking out with the sunrise, barefoot, glowing, completely undone by joy. Music still in our bodies, laughter in the air, time suspended.
One of those nights you don’t talk about — you remember.!!

Pure magic.

Ps: Bonny Tyler would be proud of my Total Eclipse of the heart! 😜

When I am back at my roots… My visit to the Tem When I am back at my roots…

My visit to the Temple of Yemanjá in Salvador da Bahia was an encounter rooted in identity. As a daughter of Yemanjá, I did not arrive as a guest — I arrived in a place that already belonged to me. The connection was immediate, grounded, and deeply present.

Yemanjá, the great Mother of the waters, is far more than a symbol in Brazilian culture. She is origin, protection, fertility, and care. In Brazil, her image was shaped by the encounter of African traditions with colonial history — often represented in white and blue, blending African spirituality with Catholic iconography as a way for enslaved peoples to preserve their faith. Yet beneath every statue and celebration lives her true nature: an African deity of immense power, rooted in Yoruba cosmology, mother of many Orixás, guardian of life and emotion.
Her presence runs through the veins of Brazilian culture — in the sea offerings of February 2nd, in songs, prayers, and the quiet respect people hold for the ocean. Yemanjá reminds Brazil of its African soul. She is proof that African spirituality did not just survive here — it shaped the country’s identity.
To stand in her temple, in Bahia — the heart of Afro-Brazilian resistance and memory — is to feel how deeply Africa lives in Brazil. Yemanjá is water, but she is also memory. She carries the stories of those who crossed the ocean in pain and transformed it into devotion, culture, and strength.
Leaving the temple, I felt held. Claimed. Reminded of who I am and where I come from. Being a daughter of Yemanjá is knowing that no matter where I go, the sea walks with me — guiding, cleansing, and calling me back home.

Odoyá, minha mãe.
