Kafka and the travelling doll

May 17, 2016 by Valentina Voos 1 Comment
Today I read a text which I needed to write about… Although it is not much of the theme of this blog, I felt I needed to share. I have a daughter and everyday I realise how difficult it is to educate kids. What we do now it will construct their day and existence in the future…. So, the text was about Kafka, a Czech writer of the early 20th century who used to write in the German language and who wrote books which are still very actual and famous such as the process and the castle. Kafka met a… Read more

Cannes – is Classical boring?

May 13, 2016 by Valentina Voos 1 Comment
Last week I wrote a post about the horror show of the Met Gala… As you read, I thought most of the dresses were awful not to say ridiculous… Of course there was some women extremely well dressed… But the majority… I was criticised by some readers who really loved the style of the Met outfit… I am happy to disagree with them… As there is space for every taste… https://valentinavoos.com/?s=Met+gala Now we have the Cannes Festival… South of France and the red carpet so far is wonderful… Maybe it is the sea influence, the French vibe… I don’t know… Read more

Am I a shopping addict?

May 11, 2016 by Valentina Voos 1 Comment
I am getting old and people say that with age you get wise… I agree with that but I am not so sure about me… not sure, at all, I am getting wise… The older I get the more fashion connected I get… the more “looks” I want to wear and more tuned I get to the “it” shoes and “it” bags… The problem is I cannot buy them all… or at least I should not… I catch myself flicking through the Instagram photos of Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Dior, Chloe, Louboutin… not to name them all… I also catch myself… Read more

Some evenings leave a lasting impression not becau Some evenings leave a lasting impression not because of their spectacle, but because of the rare authenticity they embody. Our private dinner at the @jaegerlecoultre boutique was one of those moments — an intimate encounter between exceptional gastronomy, meaningful conversation, and the timeless artistry of haute horlogerie. Around the table, guests were invited to experience the refined creativity of two-star Michelin chef @gillesvarone , while also discovering the extraordinary heritage and savoir-faire of Jaeger-LeCoultre, rightly known as the watchmaker of watchmakers. The evening was further elevated by the presence of @nadia_stylestrategy , who offered guests a fascinating exploration of colorimetry, revealing the tones and nuances that best enhance each individual’s natural elegance. In a world increasingly driven by immediacy, there is something profoundly inspiring about bringing together craftsmanship, beauty, and human expertise in such a thoughtful and intimate way. I left the evening deeply grateful and immensely proud to be part of the Jaeger-LeCoultre family and to share in a vision of luxury rooted not in excess, but in excellence, culture, and enduring savoir-faire.
Thanks to all that came and joined me that evening!

Life can be extraordinarily unexpected. I was not Life can be extraordinarily unexpected.

I was not raised around fame or cinema. My world was a different one entirely.
Which is perhaps why this moment at the opening ceremony of the 79th Cannes Film Festival felt so emotional: not impossible, simply improbable.

Thank you to those who opened doors, believed in me, and walked part of this path with me!
