There is so much to say… this was one of the most magnificent trips I ever made…

A few years ago… I went with my sister, my travel bud… We had so much fun..

The trip started in Osaka, where we landed, following to a short train trip to Kyoto…

My sister and I were jet legged after traveling 12 hours and I did not let her sleep… took her out and made her walk for a few hours prior to going back to the hotel and then sleeping to kill the jet leg… she was not very happy at the end of the day…

Kyoto is a very special town, ancient imperial capital, it has preserved its old monuments as it developed its modern town. When Kyoto, one must visit the Toji Temple, which has the tallest pagoda in Japan. Also, another must place to visit is the Nijo Castle, its gardens and wall paintings… I post some pictures for you to have an idea…

A must must see is the Kinkaku-ji golden temple… It is all gold.. indescribable!!!

Kyoto is also very famous for its Geishas.. My sister and I had the opportunity to see 4 of them when wandering through town… we don’t really know from where they came out, but when we realised they were just next to us… a magical moment… no pictures…

About an hour outside Kyoto, you can reach the small and lovely Nara… first capital of Japan, Nara is gorgeous to walk around and full of things to see.. When visiting, you must go to the Todai – ji Temple and see the Great Buddha Vaicaran.

Not very far, there is also the Himeji Castle… On top of a cliff, it is a samurai castle… beautiful and classical…

The best way to go around Japan is by train, especially the high speed ones called Shinkansen… they fly at 320 km per hour and you cross the country within very little time… Passes should be bought abroad prior to arrive in Japan…

When we think of Japan we think of lights and neon… Tokyo is all of it and much more.. it is hectic, busy, noisy, fast… going there you really feel like Scarlet Johansson in Lost in Translation – film with her and Bill Murray… must see…

It is true that Japanese people love technology.. looking for an internet cafe, as a few years ago, mobile phones did not have wifi yet, we found this place full of cabins, which each cabin is like a mini apartment, a bit like a shoe box… there is everything, sofa, video games, computers, tv, fridge, and someone can stay there for as long as it wishes to stay… in privacy, in its own world…

Toilets are also quite interesting. Japanese people like the Chinese can go to the toilet without having a seat.. However, they are very worried about hygiene and for that, the toilet seats are equipped with water, spray, perfume, music… check it out… we loved it!!!!

When in Tokyo, you must visit the fish market – Tsukiji – wake up early and enjoy the sushi for breakfast… it is so fresh!!!!

I could spend another hour writing about Japan, but if you wish a gran finale, go to the top of Tokyo’s skyscraper, choose a bar, we went to Deva, get your favourite drink and enjoy the view… if you are lucky, you will see the Mont Fuji!
