Belief – Discipline – Patience

Yesterday I was watching Mamma Mia when flying to the Caribbean when I remembered an interview that Meryl Streep had given to a newspaper…

She had said loads of right things but the one that really touched me was when she revelled that she was rejected for main actress position at the King Kong film because she was told to be too UGLY…

Then… This lady… Did not give up…

Instead… Throughout her career, she won 3 Oscars…

Obviously she did not win 3 times because she was rejected… She won because she was great… Simply that…

It seems obvious that we must believe in ourselves… In our talent and in our dreams… But the pressure we are on everyday and the criticism that not always is positive… Can take us out of the right way…

I don’t normally write about these topics but recently I had lunch with a 25-year-old girl who asked me how I did it…how I managed to have a job, write a blog, look after my children, exercise and still look happy…

First I was flattered by the question… Because in her mind I could give her some words of wisdom to deal with her own pitfalls…But then upon reflexion I realised that maybe I should write about this…

IT IS NOT EASY… No one’s life is perfect… Mine is far from being…

I could write an essay about it… But there are 3 basic principles I think I should share…

Belief

Discipline

Patience.

Believe in yourself… ALWAYS… It sounds obvious but it is very hard… Don’t let anyone take that belief from you… Note… I am not recommending being stubborn… I am saying believe but also listen and if necessary correct the course…

Have discipline…. Life is a book of many chapters… But we write our own novel… Think about it… Create your own life business plan, work on it… Make adjustments but don’t abandon it…

Patience… Nothing comes instantly… Despite of modern society selling you this concept… Everything is a matter of hard work and time…

It is cliché… I know… but it works…
