Hotel M de Megève

Megève is one of my favorite cities in the French Alps…

It is cosy and cosmopolitan….

Every year I just love to go around the charmful city and enjoy myself…

There are several places to go but today I will tell you about my experience at the Hotel M de Megève.

First, it is all about location… At two minutes walk from the Rochebrune station and 30 seconds to the pedestrial zone… the hotel is very well placed for families like mine… with skiers and no skiers…

My husband and kids ski.. whereas me… well, I enjoy the shops and the nearest spa…

For that, the hotel was just perfect… I had not only the chance to enjoy the premisses but also to enjoy the town…

Recently renovated, the hotel has a very cosy bar and 2 super yummy restaurants… one of which we enjoyed immensily.

The menu is signed by the famous French chef Yves Camdeborde and the concept is quite interesting… small dishes in tapas style to be ordered in several to share… all of the dishes have a gastronomic touch and I assure you they are just to die for…

The dishes we ordered were:

Tartare du boeuf

Club sandwich aux truffes

Burrata

Salmon sashimi

Shrimp crepes

For desert we ordered the delicious yummy unforgetable Gaufre au chocolat et coconut… with Vanila Ice cream…

I realise my diet was assassinated for the day.

The hotel also has a very nice spa… and what impressed me the most was the quartz sand bed…

Yes, you read it right… The body is laid on a layer of heated quartz sand… not directly, of course, but nevertheless the warmth of the sand penetrates the skin for a deep relaxing experience… I did not try… but it made me so curious that I will go back in my next trip to Megève.

Another very interesting feature of the hotel is the fondue restaurant. It is not a fondue restaurant as any other but a personalised fondue restaurant…

What does that mean??? It means that the fromagier or the cheesemonger will tailor make your fondue in accordance with your preference… different types of cheese are offered and used and creativity is the key…

Everything is possible and for those who love sweet and sour combinations… fondue with ananas is just unforgettable…

I could spend hours here describing the rooms and the hotel in itself but as you would expect for a 5 stars hotel… the rooms are super comfy and cosy…

You don’t need to ski to enjoy the Alps… only the fresh air and change of scenery can do a lot of good…

Enjoy… www.mdemegeve.com
