Starting 2018 with one of my favorites post trends…. Sunday Brunch
As you read here in the blog, I recently was pampered with a night at this terrific hotel. If you missed the post, you can check it out below:
As we spent the night from Saturday to Sunday, we skipped breakfast and went directly into Brunch….
As you know Brunches are part of my life… I love them and discovering the differences from one to another make give me a lot of pleasure…
I mentioned on the other post the amazing restaurant that the hotel d’Angleterre has which is called Windows…. It is a typical English conservatory, all in glass overlooking lake Geneva…. The view is an anticipation to the meal.
I sometimes come to the hotel to have the high English tea…. The tea is served every day from 4 pm and it is all you would expect for a traditional English tea… Cucumber sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, mini pastries…. At special dates such as Halloween and Christmas, the hotel customizes the tea… My kids love the Halloween one…. Below, a picture of the customized brunch…
This time, though, we went for the Brunch and it was a delicious surprise…
The variety is just right… Not overwhelming at all… Sometimes we go to Brunches and do not really know what to choose as there are too many options… Here it was just the right proportion…
I loved beef Carpaccio… And they have a delicious one… Spiced perfectly…
Also, I love the Caesar Salad… OMG… Perfectly balanced and crispy… The best Caesar salad I had in this town…
Also, there is a selection of egg meals… I tried the omelette and my husband the eggs Benedict … I confess that I nearly stole his plate…. He did not allow me….
Further, if it was not enough, there is a choice of hot plates… I chose the lamb… Not always my first choice but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and it was just the right choice… Super Yummy!
Best part was the desert… the hotel is famous for its pastries which they prepare for the high tea… so all the expertise applied to the brunch and Ta daaaa… I did not resist and ate way toooo much… The 3 chocolates tarte is to die for 1000 times….
At the hotel you feel almost as chez toi… The restaurant is cozy and super welcome to kids too… So, if you feel like far niente on a Sunday… A great recommendation for indulging yourself in the best of English style…
