A day in the mountains – Giessbachfalls – Brienz

Summer is soon coming to an end… No better reason to go outdoors…

Paraphrasing Game of thrones: “The winter is coming…”

The program of the weekend was to explore the Brienz lake area in Switzerland… very well known as one of the lakes which lead to Interlaken… The lake is beautiful! actually… stunning… Our aim was not really visit the lake but a waterfall not very far from it… Giessbachfalls….

There are a few ways to go to Giessbachfalls… One can go by a funicular which climbs the moutains and stop at the Gissbachfalls hotel… One can hike up the mountain from the lake and lastly, one can drive to the hotel and then hike up to the falls…

The hotel is one of the most beautiful mountain hotels of Switzerland… An amazing view of Lake Brienz and a terrace sitting at the bottom part of the waterfall, it is a perfect place for a mini break on the weekend…

Visitors from all over the world stop by to have a coffee or an ice cream… As the place is the utmost Swiss cliché… Lake, panoramic landscape, Swiss cows, and perfect Swiss hospitality…

The pictures will say a lot more than I could…
