Athens Riviera … amazing beach clubs
Before going to Athens last week, we had planned to go to Acropolis and to visit its museum…. When there, we realised that it was too hot to try…. also, our hotel had an amazing view of it….

Instead we decided to go to a beach club…
When we think of Greece, we think of the Islands…. when we think of Athens, we think of the Acropolis… but Athens has a lot more to offer… including its amazing cost….
Driving south from the center…. there are amazing neighborhoods and one of the nicest one is Glyfada, where we call Athens Riviera…
Full of cafés, and beach clubs, it is the perfect place to spend the day…
I did some research and my obvious choice would have been the Astir beach club… if I was not with the kids… from what a gathered… it is a top place to go…but not suitable for kids below 16… although not forbidden….

Then I came across the Balux Cafe at the Asteras beach… it is also called the house project… perfect name as the aim is for you to feel home… and you do….

A beach club where you pay a very reasonable amount to enter… this gives you the right to a sunchair and an umbrella… get there relatively early as there are many but they tend to get occupied….
The beach is beautiful, clean and busy… some toboggans for the children fall directly into the sea…an extra amount is charged for this part….
If you fancy eating, plenty of options inside and outside…. pizza, burgers, sushi, Greek food…. Ice Greek coffee… you have it all…
The place is set up with sofas to make you feel very comfortable… a kids playground is also available, where your kids play freely under surveillance whereas you sip your coffee…
The vibe is great and the music AMAZING…
We enjoyed it all.. started at the beach… played at the toboggans, showered and went inside for lunch… while waiting, sipped wine while our kids played at the kids zone… I even took a nap while my kids played… I assure you the sofas are worth it…. I kind of thought I was home…
I only hope I did not snore! 🙂
