You eat and you gain… And it is not weight…
I am a big foodie… I looooove to eat… I am not fussy about it… I like to eat what is good, regardless of the place… It can be my grandmother’s gnocchi, my mum’s soup, a local wood ovened pizza, or a 3 stars Michelin meal…
With this passion I visited and still visit many restaurants across the world…if someone tells me that ate very well in a particular place, this instigates me and here I go after it…
I tell you….to keep my waist line within medium size is tough… Weight seems to stick around even uninvited…
Moving from restaurant to restaurant, about 20 years ago I discovered an association of restaurants in Brazil which the members – the restaurants, would gift you a ceramic plate for you to take as a souvenir of your visit to the restaurant…
Then another passion was born… Collecting these plates… OMG, I could not even start telling you the crazy things I have done to get the plates…
The association is called in portuguese: associação dos pratos da boa lembrança… It exists for 22 years and has restaurants all over Brazil…

Basically you go to one of the restaurants and one meal of the menu gives you the right to get a ceramic plate with the name of the restaurant, the year and the city…
Now you must be asking yourself… Why is she writing about this if Brazil is so far away…
The best comes now, the brazilian association was based in an italian association which covers the whole Italy, but also countries like Austria, the United States, China and Japan…

The principle is the same… You go, eat the meal that gives you the right to the plate and you get it…
The wonderful thing about both associations is that it is guaranteed that you will have a great meal… To join the associations you must have high kitchen standards and also be recognized as a being outsanding….
One of the best memories of a trip is the food one eat… As the name says, it is supposed to be a great memory… And even a better memory if one can bring it somehow back home…
Let me know when you try! I would love to know if you liked the tip!
