Colorado, First impressions

Colorado is famous for being the ski Estate…To where many snow and ski lovers fly to enjoy the winter season…

We have just arrived and more posts will follow…

We flew to Denver and it impressed me to see the large flat city with the mountains in the background… I must confess that the mountains surprised me as I expected them to be much higher or sharper…

As we drove to Aspen, we passed through Vail ( we will go back there) and noted that the mountains are not very high and quite round, meaning that there are not the high sharp peaks that we are used to see in the European alps…

Also I got impressed with the beautiful cannons of the rocky mountains, the way the rock superposes, it is a quite interesting puzzle of steps…

The weather is so far absolutely fantastic, sunny, blue sky, and quite warm… Parts of the mountains are without snow, especially where the sun hits all day long…

Today I will go out and explore the cities and the mountains… More will follow with tips on where to go, shop and eat…
