Winter beauty

I was not born above the Equator line and although there is snow in the southern parts of the world, snow for me resumed in 1 week holiday every 3 years, as fake flakes in a shopping center around Christmas time… Not to mention, of course, the movies where Santa arrives in his sledge, while I was sweating only by imagining to wear those thick jumpers…

Then, I moved North… I must say that  even after so many years I still struggle with the whole dressing and undressing… I still have not learned how to ski, and I dread the thought to wake up early to hit the slopes… HOWEVER… Something changed on me that I could not live without the winter and the snow….

I read this amazing post recently, called ” When you live in a Snow country” from a blog called revisions of grandeur – www.revisionsofgrandeur.com, which express the blogger’s love for the winter… I now understand how she feels…

I must admit, I love the sun and the warmth of the beach… But the beauty of the winter, the freshness of the air, the sensation of the snow are feelings that you crave to see when December comes…

I confess that sometimes there is no glamour, especially when the streets are covered in snow and you still need to go to work or take you kids to school, but the lack of snow makes your winter grew and sad…

Believe me, the coldest the winter is, the warmest my heart for it has become…enjoy the snow!
